Background
Kathy Johnson has been working with children who struggle in school since 1999. Her consulting and tutoring practice helps children with learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, and other problems that have contributed to this. She has been trained in Sanomas Listening Program, Therapeutic Listening, Primitive Reflex/neuro-development Training, PACE, and Phono-Graphix. Her research has brought her to consider the whole child when screening children to find the source of their struggles, including nutrition, stress-relief, BrainGym, vision issues, and cognitive programs. These have helped countless children over the years.

The Many Causes of Reading Struggles
Not Your Typical Reading Workshop! Help your most difficult students!
This presentation includes the causes of dyslexia and other reading struggles. You know what works for most students. You use the highest recommended reading method. Yet there are still a few who just don’t “get it”. Hear the stories of how a 6th grader learned to read, even after twice retained; Of the boy, who after learning how to decode, but then couldn’t read more than a paragraph at a time, progressed and succeeded; Of a young girl in 4th grade, who had faked reading well enough to be in the average reading group, after 20 days read above grade level; Of a girl who raised her reading level by at least a grade immediately with one easy accommodation. This workshop is perfect for adults, parents, teachers, and tutors.
